Hey gang. I am sharing this with you first before making it public so please do not post these ideas to social media.
Thinking on it for over a year now I am inclined to switch the core die roll to a D12. By doing so I can practically eliminate the the weapon charts and summarizer each weapon to 3 numbers (special traits aside).
For the most part the effectiveness of the weapons stay the same with relation to each other and there UPV cost.
Using the D12 will allow for smaller incremental To Hit numbers, distinguishing weapons more from each other. Also the D12 is very useful for determining grenade deviation.
I am very excited to share this with you guys. See below how the new weapon stat would work and let me know your thoughts.
Fantastic idea. Have always felt that unless you are using dice pools the D6 just doesn't have enough range to work with more than a couple of modifiers. Pretty keen to try this.
Also the D12 is just so satisfying to roll.
Trying out the new D12 combat system for LOS. This is the Uncommon Valor scenario at the end of turn 1
So in that example a blaster at range 6 would hit on a 7+, and at range 12 it would hit on a 8+?
I assume all other modifiers still exist?
- So under a d6 system walking covering modifier was +1 and Running covering modifier was +2; will you just double these now under a d12 system, or do you have plans to granulate further in some way?
Whatever the case, I think this is a good move to get rid of large tables :)
Have you ran a game with it.
Sounds interesting.
